Hi All, I'm interested in trying to add Dynamic cruise control to my Prius, I've looked in the past at whats needed to make it happen and was wondering if anyone knows junk yards/Salvage yard I might be able to get the parts from in Northern Cali?

I already have techstream setup on my laptop so I think I should be able to enable it once installed.

I'm interested in doing the Lane Keep assist as well but I know that will need a new windshield so I'm more interested in getting the parts then if I end up needing my glass replaced I'll see if I can get them to use the glass for that(I already got a chip the very day I picked the car up :/)

You will need the radar emitter and the radar transparent hood emblem. Those should be relatively easy, however, what will you connect them to? Is there an empty plug in the existing wiring harness? How will you control the system? Its not just on/off, there are three different "follow distances" that light up in a display on the dash. Is that display present in your car? If not, how will the car display its current state? I don't know where the car does the calculating. Is it a separate part? Have you tried hooking up your techstream to a car that has the DCC and checking what differs from your car?

If it is just plug in and switch on, please post *exactly* what you do, I think a lot of people would be interested.

You could check with HP Motors in Rancho Cordova ;).

They have tow after tow of Prii and may have what you are looking for:).

Check theirs ads out in the Sacramento Craigslist or just search them up on google. They’d be te salvage yard I’d choose(y).

Sweet, I'll check them out, I don't have a timeline for this project but I know beyond the sender and emiter for radar you need another computer, the steering wheel controls need to be added(I'm not sure if the whole steering wheel needs to be changed or if you can just change the plastic on the right side) I know that when you plug tech stream in it asks me about installed options and dynamic radar is an option even though I only have the base model which to my knowledge was never offered with DCC.

I hope that salvage yard is one where you can just go in and look at the cars yourself rather than them doing the work for you. That way I would be able to see how it comes out of the car to get an idea how to put it in mine. I'd also try to grab the LED headlights while I'm at it.

They are into parts resale, so going out back isn’t an option for most:cool:.

If the steering wheel has the required buttons, you’ll need everything from that car. I’d call them and let them know what you are trying to do and they can take a look in their inventory;).

If nothing else you might be able to leave your contact information with them and if they get in what you are looking for, you’ll be set:).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

So basically these are what I found in the past, Ideally I want to find a junkyard where I can go in myself and find everything from one vehicle.

I know it snot a simple undertaking but its something I want to try. I might not get to it until next summer since I just moved to California and I'm still figuring things out with that and a major thing right now is that I don't have somewhere I can work on the car for a week straight.

always have this DIY option too:
