I have a 2014 Prius C that was running great except for the radiator had a leak. It was quiet, smooth transfer between gas and electric, idling normal. We changed out the radiator yesterday and now the car is idling in an accelerated mode and longer before cutting off. It also now feels like there is some resistance when trying to gain speed. Sometimes when it’s idling high pushing the gas pedal does nothing at all to it. It continues at the high idle. Sometimes even goes a little higher before cutting off for electric. Any idea what this could be? I’m at my wits end with it.

i would run a battery health check with dr. prius app, and do a load test on the 12 volt.

did you bleed all the air out of the coolant loop?

The 12v battery is brand new. Just replaced it about a week and a half ago. I believe we did. Filled it, started it, let it drop, topped it off, drove around the block, topped it off. Then drove home (about 3.5 miles) the inverter tank and reservoir tank were still full. Topped off the radiator this morning after it was cool. It drove home fine last night. Then after typing her off this morning and leaving is when it did it for the first time.

Pull codes what? It is not throwing any codes. I’ve already had that checked.

Who checked for codes? AutoZone? Skip that $5 scanner. You need the dealer computer. If you're not a mechanic this tak is going to be over your head. Save your time and all the frustration you'll go through. Send it to the dealer and be done with it.
