I don't mind having my posts critiqued, but not by someone who hasn't bothered to read or comprehend them. I've had a new battery installed and all my software is up to date.

I'm not repeating myself for someone who misunderstands the problem. Before you offer advice, I suggest you become familiar with the problem.

    • I carry a jump pack, not because I want to, but because I have to.
    • I also use a battery maintainer as a workaround.
    • I have had the 12V battery fall below threshold in as little as 2 hours.
    • The problem existed long before I installed the auxiliary battery. It is fully isolated from the system.
    • The dealer has tried to "fix my car;" installed a new battery, but they still seem stumped.
All of these things have been spelled out in detail, if you had bothered to comprehend.

If that's true, maybe you could cite one.

What's it to me if others have or have not this problem?
Is there some sort of consensus required?

Neither one is OP’s current problem.

I explained what is going on in detail in my previous post. His current battery-isolator setup with user-adjusted cut-in/cutoff voltages and the auxiliary 12-V LFP battery is confusing the Prius BMS and preventing it from charging the 12-V battery altogether. As a result, his warranty-replaced second battery is also damaged now due to sulfation from constant full drains and won’t hold charge.

Back to the two issues that you pointed out:

A replacement new battery was only needed in instances when the dealer failed to properly maintain the battery (by periodically connecting a battery charger) during long periods of storage, such as during recalls etc., which resulted in sulfation of the battery before the car was sold to the owner.

The software update was only needed when the owner was leaving the car plugged in for many days, which you are not supposed to do anyway. The car is not normally meant to be plugged in for longer than overnight. If I did so in Canada to use the battery heater in frigid temperatures, I would also connect a 12-V battery maintainer.

Other than that, third-party accessories, mods, and not driving the car for long distances regularly can drain the battery. You should use a battery maintainer if that is the case.

It is always a good idea to use a battery monitor to diagnose any issues.

The problem was never the battery. You'd know that if you weren't stabbing in the dark.

I've lost track of the times I said the original battery tested fine, but a dealer replaced it anyway. The battery was still going dead just being parked, sometimes for only 2 hours.

This was before any auxiliary battery was ever installed. If a software update should have fixed it, all of mine are up to date.

I think the implication is that I don't know what I'm talking about. This conclusion was apparently reached without reference to the facts I posted.

Nope, I'm a good person. I actually help people in real life, unlike you, who does nothing more than stir the pot with practically every post. Practically every post, you prove who the idiot actually is............
