So driving so much in my Prius, I want to add wireless CarPlay. Looking at the crutchfield website there’s a disclaimer about soldering connectors that is required. Has anyone experienced this? I posted a screen shot. It’s for my 2006 Prius and the headunit is alpine ilx-107.

You have to solder a resistor across 2 pins on the 20-pin plug. Everyone who has installed an aftermarket radio has experienced this.

Top link shown in my "similar threads" has a good explanation.

Great that crutchfield is advising you of this up front and providing the part and instructions. Looks like a trivial extra step. Good luck!

Oh, it turns out there's a kit that has a plug-n-play harness with no resistor soldering required.

Look up the TA2103B from PAC-audio
