The wheels are very attractive. I'm doing a huge dump of photos today, and will try to get to some of your questions when I get to the airport tonight. Last night's What Drives Us podcast answers a lot of questions:

There are more pictures on the US Toyota site (nothing yet on the Canadian site - so what's new about that ;) ).

Oh, and it IS a "Prototype". "Prototype shown with options. Production model may vary."

Good picture of the console showing the entire thing.

What is an "expressive Bi-LED headlight"?

Bi-LED probably means one for low and one for high beam. Expressive is just a description.

Thanks , Danny. Can't wait to see and hear more about the engine and powertrain. And aero. Engineering details! I'm jealous of those seats and the interior and the new color display.. i always felt the prius gauge cluster was 1980s tech. We gotta stop doing these calculator displays!

The single projector you see in the front is LED and functions for both low and high beams. (The high beam is initiated by removing a shade, similar to how the US Gen 2's HIDs were setup).

I added 196 more images (out of over 560) that I shot as well. I put some focus on hidden areas of the car (underbody, battey, etc.) where we could see. Couldn't pop the hood (Toyota disconnected the release), so no engine shot.

Very disappointing, it should have been adaptive headlights .
Automatic high beam is yesterday's tech !
Come on Toyota you can do better than that !
Guess we have to wait for the refresh until Toyota get's up to date with illumination tech .

    What about the interior ?
Is it still hard plastic or soft - touch materials ?

We saw hard plastics in many areas. Lower armrest is passed, however. Keep in mind we saw a preproduction car, and they always warn that we can still see minor changes near the end.

Yes, the fob is a bit big...

True but here in North America, only Lexus models have adaptive headlights and some are behind (the GX née LC Prado didn't even have projector lens or HIDs until very recently, let alone adaptive headlights. The ES had adaptive headlights with HIDs but no longer offers them in the current generation with LED headlamps.

The top of the door panel is hard plastic, the mid section is a bit softer but not by much. The armrest is padded of course. The top of the dash is the same material as the midsection of the door panel - somewhat soft but not the squishy vinyl/plastic that you'd expect of a "soft-touch" material. We didn't notice any special graining (like the Gen 3) but these are prototypes so it can change.

Yes, it's bigger than the current fob. It's trapezoidal rather than rectangular.

Since the interior doesn't look very spectacular, does Toyota at least offer a nice ambient lighting ?
I know a Prius is no Mercedes but ambient lighting really makes a difference !
Looks beautiful in the Mercedes C class! !

Great that lot of pictures were taken, but trim down the gallery to 1/10th. Quality not quantity would be better.

The Gen 3 has some ambient lighting in the form of a white LED shining on the shifter and (if equipped) amber footwell lighting that glow dimly in Drive and brightly in Park.

I agree. I used to post 2 photo albums of each of our trips, one with highlight photos and the other with everything, including blurred images, etc. I found that my friends all viewed both albums and preferred to see everything so they could decide which ones they liked most. Now I just post the one with everything, many that I would have skipped get the most comments. So I say the more the merrier. :)
