Hello all. First time posting here. My 17 prime was blowing only warm air so I scheduled to have the Freon checked. The mechanic refilled my Freon, however, I was advised their hybrid specialist found the reason for my car blowing only warm air was traced back to the amplifier assembly not working. They gave me a quote of roughly $1600 for the part, reprogramming, and labor. From what I’ve seen on here with previous years and online, it doesn’t appear to be that big of a job (looks to be un-mount, unplug old one. Plug in/re-mount new one). I’ve looked online and a local Toyota dealership has this part for $580. I’ve seen used ones on eBay for $150. The mechanics who looked at it cautioned me using a used one as they said it may not reprogram and I’d be out the money I spent. That didn’t sound correct to me but someone here could probably clarify. Can someone help me out with what this job would entail and if reprogramming the amplifier would be needed?

Never mind. Just found out that as a military member, I have free access to mwr library which has a system exactly like tech stream. I was able to see the exact location and instructions for completing this job. Seek out your military friends and they can probably get you this info when you need it
