Long ago in college I carved my own shift knob from a large branch that had fallen of a walnut tree. Some stain and poly and it was very nice - so nice that my window was smashed and the only thing stolen was the knob.

I think I'll do the same thing when my Prius arrives as I'm still looking at a few minor wood trim additions.

Fabricating your own unique shift knob would be pretty cool! I'm wondering... has anybody found the specs/weight of the Momo shift knobs?

I'm still searching for a shift knob that will fit, look cool and not weigh so much that it inadvertently shifts my Prius into B-mode. There's a very cool shop in Orlando called "SkyCraft Parts & Surplus" Skycraft Parts & Surplus, Inc. . They have all kinds of wild stuff, so I'm going to make a run by there to see what I can find. I'll keep you guys posted.

Am I the ONLY Prius owner to find that the stock shift knob appears to be quite crooked????

I replaced mine months ago. It's a cheap leather wrapped one off ebay. It's longer than the stock one so accidental B mode has happened a few times when turning or reaching for the radio but it is rare. It also doens't always flip back up after engaging D or B but needs a little help. It has never dropped down from a bump or by itself. I like the look and think it adds a little bit of luxury to the car, I think the stock one is very tacky.

OH Yea Buddy Momo Carbon Fiber Knob you need to find a tight spacer or use longer screws to get it on tight but looks dope.

    my $.02-

I think your effort deserves an "A" but the actual mod deserves an "F"...it looks horribly out of place and doesn't match a thing in your interior

I found this one on eBay for $24! Super cute and easy to install. I have a 2013 Prius and just twisted the factory knob off and replaced it w this. The bottom piece doesnt fit but honestly it doesn't really need it and it looks good like this! :)

Been using this Lexus 250H shift knob for quite some while. This is a "stock" photo from eBay, I will have to upload some pics of mine when I get a chance. Fit perfectly for me and is a lot smaller.

Since the shift knob on the gen II has a similar mounting location, I cut down the lever on my 2012 Prius"v" and made this micro Duracon TRD knob that fist only an inch from the gate instead of two to three.

Since the Duracon material used in TRD shift knobs are somewhat flexible, buy drilling it a few thousandth an inch undersize, its a very tight friction fit.

Here it is, it is the perfect fit for me. Not too big and IMO a lot better looking than the stock one.

The 2012 to 2015 Prius"v" blue shif knob would also look good on hhe Gen II shifter. It is an easy direct fit.

Yes, the first photo is of the Prius"v" OEM knob.

I made the adapter for the second knob.. That's my photo.

Sorry, PriusChat blocks messages other members send to me. They afraid that you might want to buy an adapter from me. They don't make them, but they don't want you to get them from me.

It's like what's happening to AIR B&B, UBER and Tesla.

Instead of making their products better, they try to kill innovation, so they could selll their dated and stale products.
