Hi everyone is there an alternate type of lightbulb we can put in, say the dome lights and the cargo area light because those are really dim.

Is there an LED bulb that will fit? I've seen this done on other cars. I think I even did this with my land cruiser.

The cargo area is especially dim. I went shopping last night and I could barely see anything.

    Any suggestions?

Although I haven't done this yet another member installed led strips in the cargo area. Wired to factory bulb so they turn on when you open the hatch. Might do this next weekend on both sides. Better cargo area lighting. | PriusChat

I put LEDs in nearly every socket I could fill in my '04 Prius... other than the headlights.
    These are dynamite backup lamps...

I bought a replacement directional flasher to handle the LED directionals and put bright amber lamps in all four corners. They can light up reflective street and highway signs 50-100' away.

The door and 'trunk' lamps are festooons, and I had to reorder a few times to make sure the ones I got FIT... measure the lengths in mm to be sure!

I put the same backup lamps and door and interior lamps in my wife's '12 Prius V, but the dealer says that to replace the stock flasher under the dash requires complete dash disassembly and about 4 hours' labor! As soon as I hit a lotto, I'll have that done. Love the LED projectors in her car, though. Bright light, great road coverage and sharp cutoff.

ps... sold the trailer. If anyone needs a hitch for an '04 with a 2" receiver, msg me :) Might even figure out how to remove the trailer wiring from my car, too.
