Prime model is 2017 (yeah, I know it came out in 2016, but it's a 2017 model)

True, the car is used in many various ways depending on ones particular situation. That's the problem with BEVS like Tesla and leaf. These cars can only be used one way. I was signed up for the Tesla and requested a refund as the Prime looked more diiversified. Little did I know then, just how really good this car is!

That is true but irrelevant to the rest of my post.
If Toyota decided voluntarily to report to the EPA mpg figures that are reduced from what they have got in the (2017) test it is a sign of being conservative on the results.
The fact that they have elected to use the 2017 updated method on the MY 2016 liftback is another sign.

For the new members, what happened with the 2012-2015 PiP is that the EPA test for EV range had a simulated hill at 6 miles, and the load triggered the ICE, and thus they had to report "6 miles EV range", even though there was really around 11 or 12 miles EV range. If the "hill" had been at 2 miles, they would have had to report "2 miles EV range". Particularly in EV (not EV-Auto) mode, starting the ICE in this scenario is no longer an issue with the Prime.

Well I made it to 2625 miles before I filled up the car with 7.522 gallons of gas, even though I still had over a quarter of a tank of gas! What can I say, I got bored waiting!! And the price of gas had dropped about a nickel! The $100 ChargePoint "gift" card was a waste because I was only able to use about $2.50 in the 3 months before it expired; even in a very large metropolitan area like Southern California, the availability of these charge stations is still spotty, with few in malls or business centers where the stations exist, work, or are available to use. They should extend the card to one year to give new users time to locate/acclimate to this process. The best way to charge for me is the L2 rapid charger at home (under 2 hrs), and charging at homes/clients that I visit. I charge as much as twice per day, and charge at night. I've never used the Scheduler.

I had replied to this post. :) yes lots on the screen.

Also just a side not. My EV est mileage is going down. when first getting the car is was around 24 miles it worked its way up to 29.8. This morning when getting in the car it is now down to 26.4 :(

did not know what to make of it, if anything

If you're driving more freeway, it will definitely impact mileage, along with A/C use; those factors really affect my EV estimated range. The other thing is I notice that I'm more into the "fun factor" of the Prime, and tend to want to hit the gas (throttle? ) more than I first did.
    Enjoy!

Yes, a lot of toll way driving. Still not driving like a bat out of hell, like it once did :). I may get back there soon.. So let me understand this. This is an est. based my driving?
so apparently when it was going up I was driving differently? And how that is going down same thing?

The estimated mileage is an estimate based on your recent driving. It's making the assumption that your next drive will be similar to your recent drives. It has no way to know if this is true or not.

    Yes and no.

Most humans are fairly consistent. If you drive differently month-to-month, then yes it's a blind guess.

If you can return to driving like an old crippled snail, yes your estimated EV range will improve. Remember, your newer, "slower" driving style will be compared to the aggregate of your previous trip averages, so it may take a while to "improve", and if you're tempted to gun it or use a lot of A/C, this will negatively impact the EV value. Hey it's a fun game to try to get to the next level!

Well likely not, I bought the car the day I quit my old job/resigned. And was taking a slightly different path even though it is 1/2 a mile further to my new job. My old job had me taking 20% back roads where my new job is Tollway all the way to the door I guess that does make a difference

As others have answered, the EV range mileage is changeable, and changes to reflect how you've driven recently. My car's still new, and when I did some surface-street (and rush hour) driving, the EV range went up. As I've then made some freeway trips with little traffic, the EV range has gone down. If it helps, think of it this way. In your head, tell yourself it's 20 miles. But if you don't do freeway, you can bring it up to 30+. (Yes, I know you can do better than 20, but that's a good round number as "worse case" scenario).
