Has anyone removed the orange reflector from the headlight housing?

    UPDATE! I just pulled the trigger on a pair of used OEM Aqua headlights! They appear to be in brand new condition according to the pics that they sent me. So, I guess I wont be baking the OEM lights afterall. Here is a link to the ebay store of the place that I bought them from. I sent them an e-mail yesterday asking about the Aqua lights, and they replied saying that they had a used pair. They can also get brand new ones for about $1300 each. I got the used ones for $1650 shipped for the pair, not cheap, but to have that clear reflector, well worth it for me. And of course, I will post pics as soon as they are installed on my C4! I'm thinking about having the black plastic inside the housing painted Habanero to match the car, opinions are welcome.......

    You can take the reflector out but you will have an ugly square . I took apart my headlight to color match my C4. Tread will be posted soon with pictures of the finish product.

    Cool. I presume you got the LED headlights w/black bezel, as opposed to standard all-chrome like ours or the optional smoked bezel?

    Mine was the chrome housing as well. I haven't seen any of the LED headlights or smoked bezel. Share photos if you have some.

    in the pic they sent me, they look like the halogen projectors with the black plastic, I dont think I got the LED ones

    If they're the black bezels then you got the LEDs. The smoked [black chrome-ish] are the "touring package" halogens. All of them use a projector beam lens, from what I can see.

    I did a currency conversion, and the factory options for the LED headlights are something like $1500 extra....and you have to take into account the housing cost is already baked into the base price of the car. $1300/each for new sounds about right [yikes]. :eek:

    Here are pics of what I'm getting, I hope they are LED, I will send them a message to confirm, I also hope its plug and play with the Prius C. I also wonder if the bulbs are included, I will also ask them. Does anyone know how LED headlights compare to HID as far as color, light output, etc.....

    Those are indeed the LED lights, AWESOME! :D :D :D

    Their CRI should be on-par with HID, meaning they're just acceptable. The lumens output however should be fantastic, color temperature appropriate [i.e. 4300k or close], the optics should be perfect, and the very low power consumption rocks too. In all, LED>>HID>>Halogen

    nice, yes they are LED, they confirmed with me today, I wonder if the bulbs can be changed out just like HID for different kelvin like 600k, etc

    It's hugely unlikely. The form factor for LEDs are very different than bulbs like Halogen & HID.

    Looking at your pictures again, the wiring is indeed different. There's no "socket" where the LEDs go per se. There's also no side marker light in the clear reflector, yet there's another harness in the high-beam housing which could be another running light. We'll have to sort out how to power up the LED low-beam at the least.

    ^ It's the bulb part. And a dead thread. Has anyone imported these and taken some pictures/confirmed plug 'n play, etc.?

    Hello, yes, I got the LED Aqua lights, and installed them, as you can see in my avitar pic. I posted a thread here with pics of the install shortly after but I cant find it, I will search for the thread and post a link when I find it.
