    @Tideland Prius: Still not showing anything. I’m trying to quote post #18, which is purely quotes. Could it be it’s always been thus, lol?

    You only get non-quoted text when using Reply or the Quote function.

    This is how I have done it which is simply a screen capture.

    However sometimes I just send a private message and let the member update his question given the answer is already in the thread.

    If the post was buried in another thread or it was one of those endless "vent" type threads, I might reference the post using Copy Link of the post number, in this case post 18.
