My 2nd Gen. Prius has developed a couple bad cells in the traction battery. The car was neglected, unused, for a few months amd I believe this is the cause. I started it and now it drives okay but a couple of the cells need replacment. However the other day when I came out and tried to drive it the battery meter had one bar lit and it ran very poorly. I let it idle and charged the battery up a bit and it ran well but I didn’t take it too far.
I have located someone a couple hundred miles away who can rebuild the battery and I am wondering it I should drive the car to him. It is mostly Interstate driving and I am guessing that the gasoline engine will power the car.
I need to know if I risk damaging anything by doing this. Can anyone tell me if it is a good idea to drive 200 miles under this circumstance?
    Thanks for the advice.
    Michael
