You should do what you can to discourage rodents as well.

Is the car garage stored, or is there a garage that could be cleared up enough to fit the car, that'd be worthwhile. Ensure it's secure too, all the doors tight sealing, and check for any other ways they could get in, doesn't take much.

Top prevent them getting into cabin, remove the wipers, windshield trim and metal cowl, and cover the cabin air intake with galvanized steel anti-rodent mesh, with 1/4" spacing. Secure tightly with sheet metal screws (good to pre-drill pilot holes). Also good to mesh the engine air intake, to avoid them using it as a home. And the 2 exit vents below the hatch floor, in the rear corners. Removal of back bumper and installing mesh on the outside worked for me, with our 3rd gen.

Also set up traps, acquire a cat, whatever works.

A web cam that can detect motion is handy too, can give you feedback about their activity, means of egress.
