How do I tell whether I have a NiMH or Li-Ion battery?

    i'm reading the service manual, and it seems to indicate that either battery type can be used in a 2017 Prime PHEV. Some of the maintenance items are different in a NiMH battery vs a Li-Ion.

    For Prius Prime cars, there is a completely separate series of service publications (more info); if you were reading a Toyota Repair Manual that discusses Ni-MH batteries, it’s not for your car at all.
