My low tyre pressure warning came on, and as I was inspecting I noticed the valve caps said N2.

Not sure if I should only full with nitrogen, or if just topping off with air is fine. What did you all do?

Top it off promptly with whatever gas is readily available. The pressure is much more important than N2 vs air vs CO2.

N2 might be nice to have, but only if it is free. Anyplace that charges for it, is charging you more than it is worth to you.

Then, starting monitoring your tire pressure more frequently. If it is going low from simple time and age, then by the time TPMS flags it, it has have going on much too long. But if you have an actual leak, get the pressure back up right now, and don't worry about the N2 at all, as it will all get flushed when you get the leak repaired.
