GOSH NO!!! i'm already 1/2 deaf. hint: NEVER fire a .45 left handed w/ out ear protection. trust me.
funny. almost everything thats fun is bad for your ears, (firearms, explosives, cycles, muscle cars, rock n roll, etc.) except ONE thing. and if you get a screamer that can be hard on your ears too.

    (4) 8's!? why so? moving more surface area and requiring less power than the current setup?

Hey what's up justdidit yea something like that trying to get the most from the little space I'm willing to give up, and get the most surface area. Power wise the 8's I'm getting are at least 400-500 rms each so might be getting a bigger Amp. Also one which isn't so power hungry.

This, good sir, is something you shouldn't mention in polite company. People won't look at you the same way once they hear this nugget...

Thank you for your post, very helpful! do you have the JBL audio in your car? if so did you upgrade any of your speakers or replace the amp under the passenger seat?

how did you wire your new sub and amp? did you use a line output converter? thanks

I am now in the process of doing the speakers, head unit, and replacing the JBL amp. I will post pics when I am done.

My subwoofer amp is tapped into the rear speaker outputs at the JBL amp. My subwoofer setup should dramatically improve in quality when I switch it over to my new head unit's RCA outputs, since the JBL amp cuts off a lot below 70Hz.
