I've found a bypass cable that according to crunchfield website will work in my 2004 Prius with JBL audio system.

    Metra 70-8117

Has anyone used this solution? It seems like a reasonable way to use better quality amps in aftermarket audio systems.

I read about TYTO-01 but I'd rather bypass factory amp.

What about crossovers for 9 speakers? Aftermarket radios usually have 4 speaker outs with full frequency bandwidth.
This harness is not dividing the frequencies to all 9 speakers, is it?

the door speakers are passively crossed over. If the 9th speaker is the one in the dash, yeah, you're gonna lose that.

I wouldn't mind loosing the middle speaker.

The wiring diagram from this thread: JBL amp wiring in Prius 2005, 86280-0W240 | PriusChat
shows that there are separate outputs for front tweeters and front woofers.
