    Hello fellow Prius owners,

Yesterday I got my engine check light and an exclamation point triangle light on my dashboard. Drove to the nearest AutoZone to read the codes, and got these P0420, C1241, C1253, C1313. No LAN codes on the car's display.
I had my Catalytic Converter stolen a few months back and I have replaced it and the O2 sensor, and drove it without any issues/light for over 7000 miles.

In March I had an issue where I thought maintenance required meant something was wrong with the car. I had posted my issue/troubleshooting here (Prius 2005 weird issue | PriusChat), however, it seemed like I didn't have any issues and that it was just a reminder for 5K mile maintenance. Anyways, I had already replaced my 12V battery and the C1241 was still there, but no engine check light was on.

I would like to know if anyone has a suggestion on how should I approach troubleshooting and fixing these codes/issues? Should I start with relays first and work my way up or?

All suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance.

Check the connections and if good, the 12volt load tested, you never know

The fortune cookie for C1241 might say "low battery positive voltage", but in reality the ECU that sets that code has no way to know whether the problem is the battery itself or in any of the wiring or connectors between the battery and the ECU where the voltage is measured.

So the troubleshooting instructions for C1241 in the repair manual can be valuable to follow. (If the code just always meant the battery, they'd be trivial.)

Did you replace the sensor with an OEM from the dealer, or Denso. Where did you purchase this sensor, retail, online, or ??
Some of the codes (DTCs) may have related three (3) digit subcodes (INFs or detailed codes), knowing those may help.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Sorry, but I had no time to work on it earlier.

Here is what I have tried:
I have unplugged the O2 sensor and drove it for 10 mins so that it can register that it is missing. I plugged it back in and drove for around 20 mins. Stopped by AutoZone to check the code again and now I have 2 new codes(C1310 and C1259). The sensor was replaced when my catalytic converter got stolen, and I have a Denso 234-4623 that was purchased from Amazon. I have checked the relays and all those in question are "clicking" when a 12V is applied.

I will go over all workups hopefully this week and will keep you updated.

Those just mean that there are other codes being reported by the HV control ECU. Is the scan tool you are using not showing you those?

    The auto zone scan tool is showing P0420, C1241, C1253, C1313, C1310 and C1259.

It's not showing you what the HV control ECU codes are, then (which we know you have, because of the C1259 and C1310).

So a scan with a better tool could be helpful, in order to have the complete picture.

Toyota Techstream on a Windows laptop is what a dealer would be using, and is described in multiple threads here.

We also have a thread reviewing some other options.

I am also uploading all sensor data. Sorry for too many images, I didn't figure out how to export that from the app.
From these codes its clear to me that I have issues with the hybrid battery. Should I clear the codes and see if they come back? Replace the battery?

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks a lot!

That is one option. Do you have some basic tools and a DIY attitude?

The US (the Location mentioned in your bio) is a largish area, which metroplex is closest to you?

If time is on your side, then you can swap out one or more modules in bad block #11, then balance or cycle using a grid charger.

If vehicle downtime, or the possibility of playing wack-a-mole (going into the HV battery again) in the future isn't desired, then buy new.

How many miles are on the vehicle, and is the current HV battery the original or a replacement?

The car has 182K miles and this is still the original one. It deserves a new battery:)

Can you suggest the best place to purchase one? I have read on this forum that people send their batteries to get refurbished instead.

Never buy refurbished, but you might be able to find a (verified) low mileage wreck for 'cheap'. Very few will recommend refurbished.

Either a "new" OEM at 1650+, new NiMH aftermarket (2k ?), or new Lithium aftermarket (2300 ?).

Thank you. Which one do you suggest from these 3?
I went to a Toyota dealership and they quoted me $2900 for an OEM + $650 for a labor.

The order they are given is the order of preference. OEM is tried and true with a proven track record.
Shop around dealers, this is a competitive job. FYI, the cost to the dealer is in the ballpark of $1620 wholesale, so $2900 for just the battery is just bonkers.

Use Toyota Parts Center Online to shop from your home and get prices from dealers that are within driving distance of you. See if you can get one or more of the dealers nearest you to price match.

Unfortunately not all dealers are listed in the results, and I've inquired about this at both the listed and unlisted dealers, and no one seemed to understand why or how a dealership is and isn't listed on the corporate website. Best to call/visit the unlisted as well.
