Following the PC Corolla Radio I made this thread using the 2013 Highlander radio, below a brief test of the radio on the PC with pictures.

First the Radio that I bought:

The installation was easy. Once turned on the Toyota logo show up and then goes to the Radio mode. Next some pics I take of how the Head Unit works with the Prius C.

Seriously is a big visual improvement for PC 1/2 models. NOTE: Everything works 100%(steering wheel vol, mode, and up/dn arrows; mic; usb/aux). Love the blue contrast (the Corolla are red contrast).

    Overview:

    1. The Radio mode at the beginning doesn't show up the radio description but now it does, you can control with the Steering Wheel (SW) everything almost.
    2. Phone is a huge improvement, and you can transfer contacts and calls on display, and while you driving the display not allowed to make calls unless you do it on the phone directly, however you can check history calls. If you press hook up the warning message show up, press hook up again access the history and hook up again to 1st history call and hook up last to make that call. No controls from SW for up/down functions.
    3. Bluetooth music for some reason don't recognize the Cover art but gives the track info.
    4. Aux and USB music the same as the Bluetooth music.
    5. The IPOD mode is the best one since everything show up.
    6. The sound is improved with this radio.
    7. All modes you can set the sound like pop, rock, jazz etc.

In final words If you want to replace the PC radio with a OEM one like Highlander or Corolla is a huge improvement either visually and the visual menus, specially the phone mode. Later I incorporate the backup camera to everyone see it.

And If by luck I get the OEM navigation either PC or Highlander/Corolla I'll replace it and post it.

The total cost of this mod was: $300.00 including the faceplate (Use JT Torres one is better for OEM radios). and no more than 30 min for DIY.

Does this radio have a video input for a camera?

Nop, there is a plug that I still don't know what is for, here's the pic of the back:

The Prius C 1/2 radio doesn't have the backup camera plug of course, but have the same plug I indicated in the pic with no wire as others.

damn. that plug looks like you would need to have a OEM type camera. which will cost even more money. i was hoping it would just have like a video input. thanks!

Not sure if you have the kit yet with the instructions, but I posted a pic of them (they're pretty crappy) and the cables I received here. My pic looks slightly different but I believe that wire connects from the yellow RCA connector/cable to a wire coming off the radio harness.

If you're unsure if your camera will work with the +6.5v provided by the headunit, you should go buy those 6v battery (those big ones), alligator clips...local wal-mart or w/e, and test your camera if it'll work with 6v or not.

If it isn't a 6v camera or so, you'll probably have to do some fancier electrical work. If you take power from the reverse lights, you'll have to put in a relay or something like in Miki's guide...or you can probably get a boost converter

Yeah, I was at the dealer today for my 30K maintenance and everyone was looking to my car inside je,je asking how that possible.

The backup camera and homelink rear mirror are my next DIY.

Unfortanely there is no GPS adapter to attached to that radio.

I have the corolla radio on my C2 and tried hooking up my backup camera. The head unit isn't switching to backup camera, although with it hooked up a camera option shows up in the display set up(to adjust contrast/brightness of camera display) .

I've confirmed that there is power from the head unit for 60seconds or so. My camera works (tested on tv). There could be a couple reasons why it's not switching.

Since my camera is 12v, I'm using a boost converter, to get the 6.5v from radio boosted to 11v or so

    Or

Since the C3+ do have a brake pass through wire (Single pink wire if I remember) on the 16pin harness while the C2- does not even have a 16pin harness from the car.. That could be the problem?

Any1 with a corolla/highlander radio do a oem'ish backup camera DIY yet? Please give me some wisdom
