Too Short to Close Prius Rear Hatch / Trunk

    Possibly true for the dealers who are loath to make any modifications or repairs that are not simple replacements with factory-authorized new parts.

    Try some other shop with more freedom and imagination.
    Baloney. They could easily bore a mounting hole in the plastic trim on the inside of the hatch to anchor a pull handle. Of course, this will create a bit of 'damage' to the trim, which some owners might object to (for future resale reasons) and may well deter many dealerships. But with a bit of imagination and sweat, other shops could also hide the modification 'damage' behind an access cover to the license plate lights, or inside the pull handle recesses, or ...

    You need to crazy glue a heavy duty Velcro strip to the strap to attached to the other Velcro strip.

    My wife has (surprisingly) many umbrella in her car. Just crossed my mind that it should be possible to reach Prius trunk handle with such thingy
