Hello and happy Monday. While replacing the radiator to cylinder head coolant hose I accidentally broke this piece shown in the pictures. I can't figure out what it is this I can't order a replacement. Maybe you can save me a trip to the dealer? It was attached where the red arrow is pointing. The actual electrical plug for this part is tucked out of view. Thanks.

IDK. Two wires, a sensor? This close to the cooling hose – temp sensor?

I googled cylinder head temperature, water temperature, coolant temperature, and anti knock sensor and didn't come up with anything that looked like this. I have to go past the dealer anyway sometime in the next day or so.

In this manual you can try to find the connector

Page 5057 begins the connector list.
There you can look for this grey two pin connector.

Page 4729 begins the routing pics. There you can check the above found connector.

Page 4745 begins the circuits. There you can check the wire color.

    Or you'll ask your dealer.

    SM-G950F ?

Is there a part number on the broken one?

Not that I can see but part of a bracket which MAY have one side of the sensor fell into the abyss so I'll be looking for that. I did notice that the sensor is set up for two wires but only one wire is used so I'm guessing some sort of heat sensor or thermocouple.

Thank you for that. I scoured those pages and didn't see anything that quite fits the bill. The one page that has arrows identifying different sensors in the engine bay seems to identify everything but the what looks like the one sensor I'm after. Great info though!

THANK YOU!!!! Unbelievable! My part (I recovered all of it) doesn't have a part number but looking at the schematic my best guess was an air conditioner condenser. Probably the same part and acts as a noise filter?

OK so I actually found another post but I'm new here and can't figure out how to link it. Patrick Wong was one of the people who commented. It's some sort of noise filter.

It’s a bypass capacitor, shunting high-frequency electrical noise from the ignition coils’ 12-volt power supply (+B) to body ground. “Condenser,” as used in the part name, is an older term for what is now usually called a capacitor (both コンデンサ in Japanese); electric charge can be thought of as condensing on its plates, as steam or refrigerant do in other kinds of condensers.

As noted in the older thread, it’s shown in the Electrical Wiring Diagram (more info), on the Ignition pages of the System Circuit section, as N1 Noise Filter (Ignition); and in the Repair Manual in the component diagram under 1NZ-FXE Engine Mechanical: Engine Assembly, page EM-91 in the old edition shared earlier in this thread.
