Directions Disappear going Through Caldecott Tunnel

I was all ready to go to the dealer when I got that reset link at the last moment and it worked. If it didn't I would go to the dealer so they could contact their tech people so eventually my system could be replaced.

 

Well, problem has resurfaced for some reason. I haven't gone through the tunnel since it has been fixed and over the weekend I went through and it worked fine westbound but disappeared eastbound.

 

Zephyr7, I'm the one who did do the reset/calibration originally. It worked that week going through the tunnel and I thought it was resolved. But when I went through the tunnel last weekend the problem happened going eastbound.

 

I'm on 2.20. Based on this working for most others I would say it's a very rare bug.

 

My dealer updated Entune to 3.1.0 and also recalibrated the nav as per this link:

The same problem happens going eastbound through the Caldecott tunnel. The problem did not happen going westbound. I made a video of the issue as well. So what's my next step? Thanks.

 

What does "Navi box replace" mean? Is this something I can do without the dealer? I'm confused.

Thanks to the terrible glare it's hard to see before entering the tunnel but if you maximize the video you can make out the blue line for the path, and then it clearly disappears entering the tunnel. This is going Eastbound through the inner tunnel.

 

If Toyota won't let me do things on my own, then how do I replace the Navi box?

Do you mean get the dealer to replace the Navi box? Isn't that for them to decide? I'm still confused.

 

Just an update, dealer contacted Toyota and they want to determine whether problem has to do with radio unit or gps nav unit and so next week or so I'm going to get the radio replaced with one from one of their used cars. If I can't replicate the problem then they would replace the radio with a new one.

I drove through tunnel yesterday and the problem didn't happen so this is sporadically happening it seems.

 

FYI, problem still happens sporadically, sometimes only East-> West, sometimes West -> East, sometimes not at all. I dropped my car off to the dealer. They told me they did not see the problem going through the tunnel but they're going to replace the extension box. Hopefully that'll fix the problem. I have a very clear video showing the problem now so I think that helped a lot.
