There was a recall on the EGR valve itself.
You're gonna' need a new one.

Saw that! I'm trying to avoid multiple $250 let-try-this attempts, but I think next step is a used EGR from a dismantler. I cleaned the MAP, reset, and drove again... still popped P0401.

I saw your post about an oil leak after a head gasket job if you followed gasket masters video, which is what I did. I can’t tell exactly where the leak is. Any chance you have a minute to talk? My cell is 704-340-5880

Is anyone able to give more explanation about how to solve the oil leak after doing the job? I got it all put together and it’s leaking oil from what appears to be the back of the head gasket

Any chance you can elaborate on this specific step that is not in the video on YouTube? I have an oil leak but since I assembled it all together I can’t tell what I missed

Just a guess: there's an timing chain tensioner around the back side, maybe it's the culprit. Gasket Masters have a new video, and they mention to put a replacement gasket on that. Around 18:40 of the video linked in the initial post here:

    Here's a pic of it's location:

That bolt is a EGR cooler hold-down bolt, not really relevant. A lot of people just don't bother to reinstall it, since it's such a pain to access, and everything is still very solid.

A member who recently did their head gasket had a leak in the timing cover seal. Maybe this thread will help:
